Virtual finger missing mouse strokes

I find that when using virtual finger, it frequently fails to trace most or all of the lines that I draw. What I see:
(1) I drag with the left mouse button; blue dots appear along the cursor path
(2) After releasing the mouse button, “Virtual finger calculating” appears in the bottom left
(3) After a few seconds, this may result in a few cyan line segments being added to the dendrite, but usually only covering a small portion of the dendrite that I traced (always only the beginning part of my mouse stroke). In some cases (about half of the time), the “Virtual finger calculating” message disappears and nothing else has changed (no new cyan line segments added).

I am on Ubuntu 20.04. Same behavior on Chrome 85.0.4183.102 and Firefox 81.0.

The FF console has only this to say:
Content Security Policy: Ignoring “‘unsafe-inline’” within script-src: ‘strict-dynamic’ specified
Content Security Policy: Ignoring “https:” within script-src: ‘strict-dynamic’ specified
Content Security Policy: Ignoring “http:” within script-src: ‘strict-dynamic’ specified
… but these messages do not appear synchronously with my virtual finger interaction, so I’m skeptical they are relevant.

luke - thanks so much for posting. You’re spot on and our team has discussed the issue and are working on implementing a fix very soon.

In this case, it’s one of those tricky things because we have to find the right balance between running optimally and running so we can work on a wide variety of machines. Luckily, our dev team rocks so they are on the ball. Let me know if you’ve any other issues that arise.
